Guelph is a culturally vibrant city with an interesting range of fine dining, live music and theatre, visual arts and restored heritage architecture.

Often called "The City of Music", Guelph is noted for its signature music festivals: Guelph Spring Festival, a 10-day celebration of music held in late-May and early-June, Hillside Festival, a summer weekend music event held in late-July and the Guelph Jazz Festival held the second weekend in September. Other Guelph events of interest include College Royal, the University of Guelph's open house, Ribfest, a weekend of food and music, Autofest, a classic car show and the Great Canadian Brewing Festival, featuring many brands of Canadian ales and lagers. As a centre of craft brewing, Guelph pubs and restaurants feature a wonderful array of quality micro brews on tap and several of the local breweries offer tours and tastings to visitors.
