Nancy Bellzona's Picture Book
The Collins - 1914

1914A favorite teacher whose name is Goodson taught at Ralston, Oklahoma. This lady was a gifted teacher. She influenced many students toward a love for learning. Lee Otis Jones spent his first year with her and arranged for his daughter to have her in her first year also. The teacher gave both a good start toward a love for learning.

Dennis H. Jones is the second boy on the second row. He is already a handsome young boy. There looks to be a necklace about his neck which tells me the Indians already were having an influence upon him. Indian men wore Medallions around their neck, but not Anglo boys.

From the beginning of this research in 1986, much material has surfaced, to this point in November 1998. It is evident now that Dennis Homer Flynn Jones was permitted to wear the tribal attire at his wedding because he did, indeed, have Osage blood through the Hunter grandmother. As he was aware of this, the wearing of the medallion in this picture would have been permissible.
