 Growing Wheat Grass
Growing Wheatgrass:   At this time I have wheatgrass growing in a long trough on the center of the table. Everyone who comes through notices and comments on it.green beauty. One friend whose father was a wheat farmer with acres and acres growing comment that it would do better if I put it outside where it could get some cold weather No sooner said than done.  Now there are pots of it growing all about the patio and coming up the entrance to the back door. It is sort of like a harbinger of spring for me and seems to give the same feeling to our guests.  Type wheatgrass in Google and all kinds of information about it will come up along with places you can buy the juice. This seems to be the best way because there is a mold that grows on it and this cannot not be washed off and actually becomes a part of the grass. I suppose this is the reason my friend warned me to put it outside. From what I've read this kind of growing does better than inside; I did start the seeds inside because it was fun for the children to watch it grow, andI like I  mentioned, everyone enjoyed looking at it as a living growing thing. What I won't do to take away winter blues. Even a promise of spring is wonderful. One other thing, wheatgrass is high in cloraphyll and very good for those who have diabetes

donna, anything that can bring a spot of sunshine this time of year is a welcome sight. With Easter not far off, you could place a few little bunnies on a stick to stand up over your grass, or you could hot glue some little Easter type critters to the sides of your containers...what whimmsy

Ott, When I ordered that wheat grass there was way to much so I handed out the seed to anyone who wanted it. Several people enjoyed the bright spot of green at that time but have been pleasantly surprised that it lasted so long and that their dogs liked to nibble on it, too.
