The
Picture of Scotland By Robert Chambers in two
volumes (1818)
This is an
interesting publication in that Robert Chambers personally
visited all the areas he writes about and consulted local
experts for information on the area. I wanted to ocr this
publication onto the site but the font was a bit too difficult
to make this easy so I cheated and made the two volumes
available as pdf files.
