Sound Advice

It was pay night. And the two cronies, Rob and Andra, had had a drop too much to drink. What had started as a friendly argument had ended in blows. Rob had been taken home for urgent repairs, but Andra had followed him "to come oot-side an fecht it oot."

While Rob's wounds were given some attention by his wife ; Andra continued to shout his loud invitations to "come oot an no be a cooard." At last Mrs Rob could stand it no longer. "Awa oot an feenish him" she encouraged - but with characteristic forethought she added "bit be shair ye dinna brak the flouer-pat at the front door!"
