I have noted a couple of articles about someone who crochets tartans.  I have figured out a method to knit tartan.  My paternal family line is Munro, so I knitted myself a Munro tartan sweater.  I've attached a picture of myself wearing it.  I haven't figured out how to write out the instructions yet, but the technique could be used for any tartan--as long as you know the thread counts.
