Our pastor has learned of a
need for small Bibles for our military troops who have been called up and
sent overseas in certain areas of the Middle East. Certain of those
countries
are forbidden to sell
religious items and the bibles are just not available to our troops. The
troops are requesting ‘shirt pocket’ sized New Testaments and love
the ones with the camouflaged covers. They are also requesting religious
tracks, Christian CD’s, crosses and other printed materials.
Our church recently took up
an offering for some of the Bibles and received enough to send a case and
they were immediately grabbed up! The cost is less than $2.00 (actually,
about $1.35 each) and it will really make you feel good to send these
items. They also enjoy reading personal notes that you could place inside
the Bibles, stamp the name of your church or short notes suitable for any
person, male or female.
Please do not stop this
request at your church. Send it on to other churches where you have
friends or contacts. There is a great need for these Bibles and many
thousands of our military troops are over there without Bibles. You will
never miss the small price of these Bibles and it will really give you a
good feeling to know that you helped someone.
A Customs Form, obtained at
the Post Office will be required for each box. When listing the contents,
please write the words, "Books"; do not state that the contents are
religious materials.
