The Family Tree - April/May 2004
Electric Scotland to sponsor "Best & Most Creative Clan Tent" award

Electric Scotland is sponsoring a season-long “Best and Most Creative Clan Tent” competition at selected Scottish and Highland Games.  An independent and anonymous panel of judges will evaluate the clan tents.  Judging criteria will include neatness, tartan use and clan identification, creativity, friendliness and helpfulness.

The winning tent at each event will receive a $100 cash prize.  Its picture will be posted on Electric Scotland.com at (http://www.electricscotland.com; it will also appear in both the print and Internet editions of The Family Tree genealogical newspaper.  At the end of the Games Season an overall winner will be chosen based on votes by visitors to the Electric Scotland website.  A Grand Prize of $1000 will be awarded to the winning clan society.   Visit ElectricScotland.com for updates.

The Loch Norman Highland Games will be the first event included in this new contest.  This new contest will be in addition to the Loch Norman Highland Games “Best Clan Tent” competition, which will be judged separately.
