The Family Tree - April/May 2006
Clan Currie Society

Dear Members and Friends of the Clan Currie Society:

Here's a quick update on some of the many upcoming events we're planning:

"And the Oscar goes to..." Watch out for Marshall Curry at the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 5. Marshall's film, "Street Fight" has been nominated in the documentary category! Read more about Marshall in the Clan News section of our website.

Tartan Week is rapidly approaching. Join us on Saturday, April 1 for our annual observance of Tartan Day on Ellis Island and plan now to march with Clan Currie in New York's Tartan Day Parade on Saturday, April 8. Register with the Society by e-mail (clancurrie@mail.com) to receive all logistical information.

The annual Service of Commemoration at the Culloden Battlefield will take place on Saturday, April 15. Alan Currie, Clan Convener for Scotland will participate in the wreath laying ceremony.

We have also begun planning our 2007 International Clan Gathering in Scotland. Plan now to rally with the Clan in August of 2007. The centerpiece of our program will be a visit to the 60th Anniversary Bute Highland Games on the beautiful Isle of Bute. Keep watching the website for information updates.

Complete details on all these events can be found on our website at www.clancurrie.com along with our summer games and festivals schedule and a new feature story and photo gallery of our Fifth Annual Burns Night gala!
