Very special donors save the day!
As I write this on 15 November, my hair has stopped turning gray for the moment! Just yesterday, we were able to pay the printing bill and the remainder of the mailing service charges for the October/November publication - which is the way we always operate. We pay for the issue AFTER it is done, except for postage deposits which must be done "up-front."
So, paying for the last one, means that now we have to raise enough money for our $5000 postage deposit which MUST be ready by the mailing date of the paper. $5000 in three weeks is reasonable, but my hair was slowly turning gray anyway.
This morning, I opened the mail and found a check for $1000 from a wonderful friend in Atlanta who wishes to remain anonymous $4000 in three weeks is even more reasonable! I know we'll make it now!
We had another most wonderful contribution this time from a lovely and longtime supporter of The Family Tree from Delaware who wishes to remain anonymous as well. That $2500 check went to the printing and mailing bills just paid.
This is always the scariest time of the year for us as most folks are thinking of holidays and gifts and things for their families...and The Family Tree goes way down on the list of priorities.
Somehow, so far, we have always had generous contributions from wonderful people so we can print and mail one more issue! We've done it since 1990! We could not have done it even the second time without you! This is the 72nd issue of The Family Tree...all because of you!
Love, Beth
