The Family Tree - February/March 2006
Lanark Scottish Fiddle orchestra

The Lanark Scottish Fiddle orchestra will  host a fiddle workshop, COMPETITION and Jam at the Northeast Florida Highland Games Saturday, Feb. 25th, at the Clay County Fairgrounds just south of Jacksonville.  Elke Baker, National Scottish Fiddling Champion, and founder-music director for the Potomac Valley Scottish Fiddle Club and S.F.I.R.E  certified Scottish adjucater will conduct the workshop and judge the competition.

Even though the primary emphasis will be toward traditional Scottish music,  fiddlers of all traditions are welcome to participate. There will be no fee, except, entrance to the games.( Elke says to you "old timers," if you don't know a strathspey, just substitute  a good dance tune.)  Its about having fun

Please feel free to pass this along to any one you feel might be interested..

Contact me for further information and visit: www.neflgames.com  and www.scottishfiddling.org

Hope to see you there.
