The Bride's Family

John and Tara were married on March 16, 2003 at the Carolina Club in Margate Florida.  The Groom and his father wore the Clanranald Tartan and the groomsmen wore Clan Gordon in memory of Tara's mother Pat, who died of Cancer several years ago.  A part of the ceremony was the rite of joining the two clans.  A scarf of Clanranald and a scarf of Gordon were sewn together and draped over the couple's shoulders while John's father asked a blessing on the union of the two clans into one family.

David Macdonald of Castle Camus was the piper for the wedding.  David is the National Convener for Clan Donald USA and a long time friend of the groom and his family.

In the picture labeled "Bride's Family"  that is her Aunt, Uncle and Cousins from New York.  Her two female cousins were bridesmaids.  Her father is Al Ott.

In the picture of the 3 of us, John (Dad) and I (Mom) are editors of the Clan Donald USA national magazine By Sea By Land and members of Clan Donald Southeast Region.

John and Tara will be moving to Murfreesboro TN in August, 2003 and he will be teaching in the Theatre Department at Middle Tennessee State University in the Fall.

The photographs are courtesy of the groom's aunt, Dr. Jane Mauldin Berger.
