1 1/2 pound stew meat (lean)
1/4 cup wesson oil (you can use less)
1/4 cup flour
Brown meat in oil
1/2 cup dry white wine (optional)
1 14 oz. stewed tomatoes, if using no wine
1 1/4 cup water, you may need to add more
2 cloves garlic
3 or 4 peppercorns
1 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 bay leaf
4 cups chopped celery
1 cup turnips
1 cup potatoes
6 carrots
1 pound mushrooms
1 small onion
1 green pepper
Brown in Dutch oven. Bake covered 350
degrees F. 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours |
