Some of the Vendors

I thought as we were there early it would be good to try and get pictures of the vendors before the main crowds started to arrive and so I set out to see what I could find...

The Hall of Names is one company where you can get a framed scroll with lots of information on both the front and the back of the scroll as you can see above. They can also supply tartan cloth samples. While at the stand you can get these products printed out while you are there.

and with it being so sunny and hot and the games you can pick up one of the famous Tilly hats at this stand along with lots of other products.. They told me they were expanding their range of Scottish merchandise.

And then I found the Scottish Banner which I'm told is the largest selling Scottish newspaper in Canada. They didn't have any copies of the newspaper for you to see as they apparently go to press with the next edition on the Monday following the games.  Mind you I couldn't help thinking that they should still have had some of the previous issues for you to see.  From my point of view I've never seen the paper so it would have been good to have at least seen a copy to make a judgment on whether to order it or not.

Just two of the many places where you can get food and drink

Lots of places to purchase tartan products

Showing the range of merchandise that is on sale

There were many security people policing access to various areas of the games. While for the most part they were all very helpful I was very surprised at the huge number that were employed for this event.

Yet another place to eat but zoom in to see the tattoos on the back legs of the man in the picture on the left :-)

And yet more products to tempt you to get some money out of your wallet :-)

And while this isn't the next photograph you'll likely spot I've been apprehended by the RCMP :-)

First picture is RCMP S/Sgt. Gilles Deziel, then RCMP Cst. Richard Pink (centre) and the Inspector in charge of the OPP Detachment of the area (far right). Second picture, the first person on your left is C/Supt. Mike McDonell and a Sgt. from the Musical Ride on the right.

Gilles Déziel, Staff Sergeant, who is the Special Project Manager at the International Training Services in Ottawa for the RCMP very kindly sent me in the above pictures as he noted I didn't manage to get any pictures of them in their red serge and so my many thanks to him for getting in touch :-)

They actually told me to come back in around an hour when they would be the red serge uniforms but I didn't make it in time. They were their with their families so looked to me a mix of duty and family fun. The next picture is an American company selling their utility kilts. So if you were a joiner the kilt has lots of pockets to hold your tools :-)

And zoom in to check them out :-)

And a family shot of this vendor with an interesting range of products

And a good place to pick up your pipes

And lots of British Food to purchase :-)

Neat family picture :-)

Some neat wee mini kilts :-)

And so there you can see an interesting range of vendors but there were others which you'll see in another section.

We now move onto the clan tents
