is seven here. This picture was taken at my aunt's apartment, Anadarko,
Oklahoma. We went there for a visit after having left some friends at
Oklahoma City. The friends had invited us to stay and enjoy the swimming
in a motel pool. We had already made plans to be at Anadarko that evening
with my aunt and had to leave.
An Aunt was working with
B.I.A. at the time and was a distance from home. She, of course, was
anxious for us to visit. My aunt had never married and we were something
like her own adopted children and grandchildren. She loved Rhonda dearly.
We never told the girls
about the bizarre goings on outside the apartment during the night.
Someone was actually murdered on the lawn across from my aunt's very
"posh" apartment. If we had opened our door, we might have seen the body
there where the person had bled to death. The girls were blissfully
unaware of anything to have happened during the night, consequently, they
were happy and smiling here in this picture.
To remember the incident as
to the murder gives me shudders. During the night someone had gone along
knocking on all the doors of the apartments and we did hear that. However,
they never knocked on our door so we did not pay any attention to
anything. It was late and we were tired. |
