It has been said, You
caint take the country out of the girl,
Indicating shes somewhat less than a cultured pearl.
Add to that another line, You cant take the city out of the boy.
No snide remark is this, of manners were not totally devoid.
Its true he loves the beautiful sunsets and sunrises
All those of natures gifts and prizes,
Even if the knowledge and wherefore,
He only knows about from the store.
Reminds me a bit of the childrens story
When he went to town and left Mom with the gory
Of chores and such she was burdened down,
Meeting every circumstance coming round.
The cows all dropped calves to sell,
The drillers hit an oil well,
The towns folks built a carnival
Brought their fine horses to her stall.
While in town her country gentleman
Watches a lady bug crawl along without plan
And chatted with the nair do wells,
While they half way listened to the church bells.
