Flood's Recipes Old Fashioned
Refrigerator Crock Salad
Grind or chop fine: 1 medium head cabbage,
4 carrots, 2 red and 2 green sweet peppers, 2 large onions. Add 2
teaspoons celery seed, or 2 cups chopped celery instead of seed. Soak in
salt water for 2 hours and drain well. Make a sweet vinegar bath with 2
cups white vinegar and 2 1/2 cups sugar. Mix well. Pour over all
ingredients. Put in crock or covered container and let stand in
refrigerator overnight. This will keep in the fridge indefinitely.
