M’FIE,
the name of a former clan of the island of Colonsay, Argyleshire, a
branch of the Soil Alpin, in Gaelic Clann Dhubhi, hence MacDuffie,
softened into MacPhee. See MACPHEE. The name implies a dark coloured
tribe.
