Get off my Back

Bibsy the turtle lay on the sand.
Being a turtle, really is grand.
I can lie here all day and soak up the sun;
Yes, being a turtle can be quite fun.

As the day passed on it became rather hot.
I think Ill go in and have a swim; that hits the spot.
Into the water he went and it felt so good
That Bibsy swam around and was in a great mood.

Fish came by to see what Bibsy was doing.
They wouldnt leave him alone; they kept on pursuing.
Go away you fish. Im here to have a swim.
But they kept darting back and forth all around him.

They blew bubbles near his nose; they blew them near his feet;
They blew bubbles in his turtle shell and that felt sort of neat,
But Bibsy wanted them to go, he was here to relax.
Im a turtle, not a fish. Have you mixed up your facts?

If that wasnt bad enough, a butterfly so pink
Landed on his back. You know what I think?
Im going to go back and lie on the beach.
That way Ill be left alone and out of your reach.

So Bibsy made a sigh and plodded onto the sand.
He lay down behind a rock to get a nice suntan.
But the butterfly found him and landed on his shell.
I guess it wont hurt, he said, Oh well. Oh well.
