Children's Stories

The Crawford Family

Chapter One

My name is Fiona Mairi Crawford. I am a girl and I am seven years old. I have a mum and dad, a big brother and a little brother. I like dragonflies and I collect seashells. I have blonde hair and blue eyes, like my mum.

Chapter Two

My dad’s name is Andrew McKay Crawford. He works in a zoo. He takes care of all the animals and makes sure they are healthy. My dad wears glasses and has dark brown hair and brown eyes. He likes to drive in his new red car and loves to watch football games.

Chapter Three

My mum’s name is Ina Crawford. Her real name is Catriona, but everyone calls her Ina. I look just like her, but she is much taller than I am. She works at my school. She helps my teacher, Mrs. Finch. Sometimes she reads stories to us. Mum is a good cook and makes the best chocolate chip biscuits in the world.

Chapter Four

My big brother’s name is Alexander Liston Crawford. He is ten years old and has brown hair and brown eyes like my dad. We call him Alec. He likes dinosaurs and science. Alec also collects stamps. He has a lot of them. Alec plays football and sometimes I go to the park to watch him. He can kick the ball high into the air.

Chapter Five

Ethan James Crawford, my baby brother, is almost one year old. He doesn’t have much hair, but I can tell it will be blond, like mine. His eyes are brown too. He crawls and tries to stand up, but wobbles and falls down a lot. He has a rubber ball and can throw it far, just like Alec. Ethan doesn’t like to eat carrots. He likes bananas, watermelon, and peanut butter sandwiches.

Chapter Six

We have three pets in our house. Noodles is the family dog. He is fluffy and black and his tail wags when he is happy. Our cat is called Zoe. I love Zoe. She lets me pet her. She is fluffy too, but her fur is short and the color of ground ginger (that’s what my mum says). Alec has a pet goldfish. Its name is Bubbles. Sometimes it blows tiny bubbles and they go to the top of the fish bowl and pop. Bubbles is bright orange and has a big tail that waves back and forth in the water. Mum has to remind Alec to clean the fish bowl. It gets dirty sometimes.

Chapter Seven

I have two grandmas and two grandpas. Grandma and Grandpa Noble live far away and I don’t get to see them very often, but I speak to them on the phone and send them emails. Grandma and Grandpa Crawford live on the other side of town. We see them a lot. I love my gran and granddad. I also have three uncles and four aunts. Auntie Ella isn’t married and she works all the time. I have ten cousins too.
