Leaping Frogs!

Four frogs sat on a lily pad in the middle of a pond. “How am I going to jump from this lily pad to the other,” a frog named Fester said. “My mom just bought me these new shoes. If I get them wet, she’ll be mad.”

“How did you jump to this lily pad without getting them wet?” Fanny frog asked.

“I just leapt,” Fester said.

“Then just leap to another lily pad,” Fanny said.

Fester pushed with his back legs and flew through the air. He landed on another lily pad with a loud plop. “Hey! I didn’t get my new shoes wet! Why don’t you come over here too, Freddy?”

Freddy Frog looked at his brand new pants. “I can’t. I’ll get my new pants wet and my mom will be mad.”

“How did you get to this lily pad?” Fanny asked.

“I just leapt,” Freddy said.

“Then just leap to the other lily pad.”

Freddy pushed with his back legs and flew through the air. He landed on the other lily pad and didn’t get one drop of water on his brand new pants. “Hey! I didn’t get my pants wet! Why don’t you come over here too, Frida?”

Friday looked at her feet. She wore a new pair of pink socks. “I can’t. I just got these new socks. My mom will be mad if they get wet.”

“How did you get to this lily pad?” Fanny asked.

“I just leapt,” Frida said.

“Then just leap to the other lily pad.”

Frida pushed with her back legs and flew through the air. She landed on the other lily pad and didn’t get her pink socks wet. “Hey! I didn’t get my socks wet. Why don’t you come over here too, Fanny?”

Fanny looked down at her feet. She just got a brand new pair of socks and shoes. “I can’t. I don’t want to get my new socks and shoes wet. My mom will be mad.”

The other three frogs shouted, “How did you get to that lily pad, Fanny?”

“I just leapt.”

“Then just leapt to this lily pad.”

Fanny pushed with her back legs and flew through the water. She didn’t land on the other lily pad. She landed right in the middle of the pond. Her brand new shoes and socks got wet!!! “I guess I didn’t leap hard enough.” She sighed.
