Frank McNie's New Fish & Chip Shop
The Name

As always when we open a new Fish and Chip Shop we are tortured trying to come up with a name. In the past we have run the gamut from the ridiculous to the sublime (Tartan Annie's to McNie's) all of which we sold and can't use again. My suggestion "MacGregors" has been shot down and June has come up with what I think is a great name. "High Street Fish and Chip Shop", everyone from over there seems to get it, since there is not a High Street in the whole of Toronto anyone wishing to shop on the High Street will have to come to us. Things are in the calm before the storm stage with not much to show so we have been working on furniture design and finishes.

Here is a picture of our open concept washroom taken from the kitchen

Almost a blank canvas

And deciding on furnishings isn't easy as you can see from this email...

Hi Mum/Dad/Dave

Here are the choices we discussed on the phone.

ATTACHMENTS

#1 is the chair model

#2. Shows the available wood colours/finishes. Discussed that maybe the mahogany would be nice. Rather than try and match the chairs to anything let them stand on their own and thought maybe the red in the mahogany would be an effective contrast with the ash floor, instead of something cohesive something a little unexpected and the red would look nice with the formica table top we liked best. Next choice was the cherry, need feedback as not entirely confident in how the colours are represented on the computer screen. The ash floor is accented with cherry at the base of walls etc... same cherry would be used in the wainscotting/booths, the chairs would be a seperate element rather than the same as the booths?

#4. I think maybe the faun vinyl is the best choice for the seat cover/booth benches.... I fear the pumice might be a little institutional.

#5 just shows the pumice vinyl.

#6 Liked this pattern rather than the previous choice of the wood grain. Think this would be very nice with the red in the mahogany chair   but not as confident when applied to the cherry finish?

Well that's what has been debated! Any feed back, insights or divine design intervention would be appreciated. Big Sar
