Kyla Groeschel's School of Highland Dance

California? Not a very Scottish name!
Scramento? Would'nt connect that in particular to Scotland!
Kyla Groesschel's School of Highland Dance? Thats a bit more Scottish!
NOW! The Fling! The Swords! The Reel! The Jig!
NOW! Thats Scottish Dancing, danced in a very Scottish way.
But these Californian girls came to us not in swimwear in high fashion
Dressed in the Garb of Auld Gaul, kilts! plaids! and swords!
They cut a better figure than any Bay Watch Babe!

In the August sun of Bridge of Allan they danced into our hearts
Young Natalie watches from the grandstand
when a little spider lands upon her hair, she goes to swipe the poor wee beast!
No! Stay your hand! Do you not know the Legend of Bruce and the Spider?
Taking it carefully from her hair
I told her the spirit of Bruce will be with you! and victory will be yours
I watched as she proudly stepped onto the stage

At the end of a long day an extatic young Californian
Tahnked me and said 'The spider! You were right four medals and a trophy!
Only a small moment in time perhaps
But the smile and the joy of a young girl will always stay with me!
