Aberfeldy The charming destination of Scotland


Aberfeldy, sits beautifully on the south of River Tay, as one of the most impressive and bustling town in Perthshire, Scotland. Its unspoilt charm surrounded in its mountains, picturesque landscapes and gorgeous outdoors will make you love this place for sure. Its glorious past dates back to early 1700's with many incidents and events. Aberfeldy might be famous for many reasons, from its malt whisky to the Aberfeldy Tay Bridge, but then, its the bridge which remains something to watch for here.

The scenic views of the Glen Lyon and Ben Lawers mountains is also something to look for. With an industrial past, Aberfeldy was into the cotton milling work way back in 1799, but now most of the industrial works remains related to the distilling. Aberfeldy distilleries are still famous for its variety of malt whisky. The history of distilling in and around Aberfeldy dates back several centuries, distilleries use to be set up on the outskirts of Aberfeldy and along the Tay valley before. Aberfeldy Distillery later expanded in the 1960s and 1970s and its today home to Dewars World of Whisky, a popular attraction.

Aberfeldy has got a lot more to see and do, from walking trails, golfing, fishing, and many other water sports are available for tourists. You can find a whole lot of shops, restaurants, hotels, country houses and many more establishment which keeps the town ticking. Aberfeldy thus happens to be a great place to plan out your short break, holidays or weekends.
