| From Oban go south - Arduaine Gardens, Carnasserie Castle,
variety of prehistoric sites - to Lochgilphead (sheep and wool centre) via Crinan Canal.
Continue south through Knapdale into Kintyre (island views, optional excursion Gigha) to
Campbeeltown (shopping, Mull of Kintyre). Second day
return via east coast of Kintyre with option of Claonaig-Lochranza Arran ferry link.
Return to Lochgilphead, taking Loch Fyne road (Crarae Gardens, Auchindrain Farming Museum)
to reach Inverary (castle, Jail Museum). Go north to return to Oban or east to reach Loch
Lommond and Heart of Scotland itineries. Alternatively, go south to Cowal (Younger Botanic
Garden, Kyles of Bute) and exit to South of Scotland via Dunoon-Greenock ferry link. |
