A.H. Birse (1880-1981 Born St. Petersburg)
was the youngest of 7 children. He met & married Millicent Dare in Russia & had
just two children. He worked for most of his life with Martins Bank (laterly Barclays
Bank). During the 2nd world war, he was Winston Churchill's personal Russian interpreter
at the Potsdam, Tehran & Yalta conferences with Stalin & Roosevelt.
