A Message from the Chief

The Honourable Clan Ranald of Lochaber has been a broken clan for the past 156 years, because there has been  no bloodline Chief to unite Keppoch clansmen and women across the diaspora. Until now that is. Hereafter referred to as clansmen, male or female.

Such an undertaking is daunting, even today, with superior lines of communication open to us compared
with that which existed 156 years ago. However, one big advantage in those halcyon days, was the strength and loyalty of the clan that existed within the extended family. The clan and the Chief worked close together in every day living. After all that is what a clan is all about, FAMILY! And Keppoch means: A davoch of land. Our Clann Duthchas or Territory.

One of the first things I have done, is to create a Keppoch Clann website. The aim is to  establish a focal point of contact for clansmen across the diaspora. In other words, a vechicle to promote communication to help draw our scattered family together again, for the benefit of all. Details are available on our clan website at http://macdonaldofkeppoch.org.

At this juncture, I am in need of your assistance, and hope and trust that you will rally to my banner once again. My intention is to  produce a copy of my personal crest in the form of a badge, so that my clansmen can wear it proudly in all social circumstances, be it Highland Games, or Gatherings, or simply family re-unions etc. The badge has been designed by me, based on historical fact, and not some fanciful fictitious idea. It has been duly accepted by Lord Lyon Robin Blair as has my Ensigns Armorial, and is registered in the Court of the Lord Lyon in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is indeed my personal property, but I am willing and  happy to share this with you.

To help with the production and marketing of these clan icons please complete the questionnaire below to post your answers to me personally online. Online. My personal email is <chief@macdonaldofkeppoch.org> if you wish to contact me on other matters.
