David (Sir)
(1855-1931) He was an Australian of Scottish
descent who discovered the causes of sleeping sickness and Malta fever.
When he isolated the bacteria of Malta fever it was renamed Brucellosis
after him, and the genus of bacteria causing it, Brucella.
