Lochaber-born circuit-rider was brought up by
his brother in Nelson Co. KY. He was ordained in 1796 and his 40 year
ministry left an indelible mark on the state. He spent most of his life on
a horse crossing and re-crossing the Salt River to organize new churches
and encourage struggling congregations.
