I have traced my Dunn family back to Falkirk, Scotland where my
GGGGrandfather John Dunn was born in 1763. I am 99% certain that his father was
Andrew Dunn born 1736 Falkirk, and that Andrews father was John Dunn born around 1716
Falkirk. John born 1763 married Elizabeth Mitchell in Falkirk and had 8 children I know
of, Charles being the last born in 1814, and he was my GGGrandfather who in 1839 married
Margaret Marshall in Barony Glasgow. He worked on the Forth-Clyde Canal, so possibly
traversed back & forth regularly, before settling in Old Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire.
My GGrandfather John was then born in 1844, and he married Rosena Campbell in 1865. One of
there sons was my Grandfather Robert Dunn born 1881, and who married Lizzie Brown of
Dalmuir, then around 1913 they moved south to Tyneside, England.Robert had two sisters who
both emigrated to the USA. Margaret & Maria.If anyone can associate themselves with my
