Garden,
Mary |
| (1874-1967) The beautiful
soprano, Mary Garden, was one of Aberdeen's most famous daughters, and
arguably the most influential opera star of the century, who brought the
drama of theatre to the opera stage. The city stages an annual competition
in her memory. The event takes place each August, in association with the
International Youth Festival, and involves an impressive standard of
performances.
