| Sir Patrick Geddes (1854-1932)
was a biologist, sociologist, and town planner with a strong interest in
theories of education and knowledge, the arts, history and many other
subjects. His widespread interests were not the result of a pursuit of
pure knowledge, but of an attempt to clarify and emphasize - in an
increasingly specialized world - the inter-relations between all branches
of knowledge.
