Mini Biographies of Scots and Scots Descendants (G)
Gilchrist, Steve

Country: Canada
Clan Associations: Lowland Norse-Scot, "Gall-gaidhil"
EMail: sgilx@yahoo.com
Entry:
I have been looking for ten years for descendants of my great-great-granduncles, who can be seen in a photograph on this page:
http://stevegilchrist.org/7lesmahagow.htm.

I have a history of the Gilchrist name at
http://stevegilchrist.org/namehistory.htm which I researched and wrote in 1992. In recent years, I've been delighted with the history pages on ElectricScotland, upon which I've found many further mentions of the Gilchrist name that I wasn't aware of when I compiled my own short historical effort. I have a history of my own known ancestors which begins at
http://stevegilchrist.org/Steve'sgenealogy.htm.

I'd be delighted to hear from anyone who can help me locate my long-lost Gilchrist cousins.

I have a friend and namesake who is involved in a genealogical project for Gilchrist and Runnels on the Isle of Islay, see
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~steve/islay/info.htm.

He was the first who posted my Gilchrist name research on the internet in the mid-90's, when such projects were just taking off.
