Elizabeth Ann Brewer CollinsElizabeth Ann Brewer Collins 1844 or 46. Died,11/4/26

Nathaniel Stewart Collins May 19, 1845. Died, 8/22/1902

Elizabeth Ann was born 1844 or 46 at Hopkins County, Kentucky. She died November 4, 1926 at Ralston, Oklahoma, Osage County- Her mother was Mary America (Spelled Amerika in the old family Bible) Hunter, who married John Brewer. Elizabeth's father was John Wesley Brewer. John Brewer was the son of Jacob and Eda Brewer, land owners an Polk County, Missouri in and before 1865. Research is not validated on America but it looks to be she has some relationship to He-kah-Mon-Kah, Osage woman, wife of Sam Smith.

When Elizabeth Ann was young her hair was dark auburn, long with natural curl. She had a sweet voice and her grandchildren remembered her walking up to their houses singing hymns. She came from town where she got off the train. One grandchild, now over ninety, remembers her as having a gentle personality, being always happy and pleasant. Another grandchild remembers her as stern and a disciplinarian. Her fragile old letters Bellzona saved show her to be a caring person, interested in her children, grandchildren and in-laws. She was a healthy person and continued supporting her children emotionally, until her death. She visited first one and then the other, and stayed in communication by mail. Her letters were usually short, one page comments directed to the whole family, written with wide apart lines. Some comment would be made as to someone having been killed in the war, or some other current event in her area. The stationery was marked with a red rose. Bellzona saved the letters, and when Lee, her son died, Velma, his wife, passed them on to his children.

During her absence from home, on one of her visits to her children, she wrote home to her husband Nathaniel Stewart Collins. He rode to town on a bicycle to pick up the mail, and because he suffered from asthma, when he returned home, he went to bed with the malady and died. Nathaniel Stewart Collins, Elizabeth Ann's husband, was the son of Jesse & Polly Ann Howard Collins. Nathaniel was born May 19, 1845 in Powell, Tennessee, Green County. He died August 22, 1902, Orlando, Oklahoma, Logan County, Bowcox cemetery. Nathan's personal description was; Black hair and beard, blue eyes, small delicate hands. He wore a full beard.

Jesse, father of Nathan, was said to have been from England, Scotland or maybe the little island of Colinsey off the coast of Scotland. There are records in Quaker histories that show a father to son lineage of Jesse to Nathan to Jesse and to Nathan for several generations. This was shown in Pennsylvania.

Jesse's wife, Polly Ann Howard was the daughter of William Howard and Annie Blaylock William H. Ashley, surveyor's office, St. Louis, 1821, show Jesse's home place in Polk county, section 7, Township 34, Range 22, west in Missouri. The story by the family tells of Jesse leaving this area with his dark wife and children during the persecution of the Cherokee, sleeping by day with them covered in a wagon, and traveling by night, guided by the stars, to Valley Spring, Arkansas, out of Harrison, Arkansas.
