Annals of Auchterarder and Memorials of Srathearn
Decreet of Lyning in Favour of John Malar 1615

Apart from its style and Scottish legal phraseology, the following decreet of lyning is interesting, as showing that, in the time of King James VI., Auchtcrarder, while possessing a Provost and Bailies, had a Town Clerk, a Court House, and Register of the Burgh Court. The house, yard, and half croft therein referred to, still belong to John Malar's descendant.
