The three baronies of
Abertarff, Stratherrick, and Durris comprehended nearly all those
portions of the great Glen of Albyn which touched the eastern shores of
Loch Oich, Loch Ness, and the River Ness, and in all the race of Fraser
predominated. Of the once numerous Stratherrick families, that of Foyers
long held a conspicuous position.
