I hope you are well and that you are having many fun adventures in life!
We will be coming to Scotland, hopefully in 2026, and are trying to decide
on the exact date. Maybe spring. I’ll keep you posted.
Perhaps we can get together and visit some Rattray points of interest - if
you are available when we come?
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you! Hopefully not too much longer.
Currently, we are interested in learning more about Rattray artifacts
(swords and shields, and other relevant military war artifacts) and adding
information about them to our website. When we visited Blair Castle some
time ago, I believe they mentioned that a shield in the grand entry, way up
on the wall, was one possibly used by a Rattray (perhaps during the Jacobite
uprising?). We would be interested in learning about where the artifacts
reside and their history.
In addition to adding the information to our website, we would like to share
the information with other clans and the public during the Ohio Scottish
Games and Festival while we are at our Rattray booth each year. We are
getting to know the other clans in the village more, and they all have
interesting stories. In addition to the usual Rattray history, I thought it
would be fun to include artifacts, even if it is just a few.
I believe I can contact some historical societies there. I’m sure they are
busy. Any information, resources, or ideas that come to mind for further
inquiry would be appreciated.
