2-3 pounds pinto beans
2 pounds fat back, ham hock, or salt pork
2½ chopped onions
½-1 pound can tomatoe paste
tbs or two sugar
hot peppers and La. hot sauce to taste
Soak beans overnight. Drain and place in dutch oven, cover with water.
Add remaining ingredients, and simmer until beans are tender. Add salt
and pepper to taste.
