The pamphlet put out on the Sixtieth Anniversary of Dannevirke Borough included:

        Mayors
        Dec 1892 - Dec 1893     A. McKay
        Dec 1894 - Dec 1895     A. McKay
        Dec 1896 - Dec 1897     A. McKay

        "Mr Angus Mackay being appointed the first Mayor
        on Monday, 12 December 1892".

        There is also a photograph showing suit, wing collar,
        full white beard and top hat.
