Drawing Table

by Nancy Fletcher

One of the people for whom my husband used to do electrical work was throwing this table away because the top was ruined. They gave it to him and he put a new plywood top on it. It is a wonderful table because it has a lever that allows it to easily be changed from a flat table to one with a slant on it for drawing or to be used as an easel to hold any size canvas to paint. There is also a lift which lets height of it to be adjusted also and this is nice because anyone can either work standing up or sitting down. My daughter in the wheel chair will use this for her artwork.

The floor of this room is cement. We've treated in different ways over the years. The indoor-outdoor carpet always wore out too soon, was hard to keep clean and just generally a nuisance. We finally did away with carpet. I painted the floor green with that paint used for marking the center lines of roads. There is a yellow color and a blue color, by mixing the two I got the green for the floor. Now when it starts to wear I just go pick up a large tube of green and yellow acrylic paint and with a broom touch that place up.
