Chilocco - Today and Yesterday
Another article about the March 4th celebrations

Donna,

The day of Chilocco's  Historical Preservation has forever been carved into memory.  It was such a beautiful day.

The drummers called the first prayer, tears welled in my eyes.

One could the buildings cries from the hurt for being deserted for so long, yet thankful for everyone there  to heal the brokeness  in that  the heart of ONE.

The wind blew softly as the sun warmed our hearts and souls as Brother Dan spoke so eloquently off future plans for the sacred grounds.

I've not heard Brother speak before a crowd, he put the others to shame. .  As he spoke, the crowd grew quiet.

Listening intently as each word  flowed with  passion for loved ones' passed and those of the future.

One could hear a pin drop

Noting those whom have served for the govt' acknowledging their efforts put forth...even though forced into the "The Great Landrush".

It was an honor to be in the  presence of so many who care. I'm thankful to have witnessed a day in the history of,

"The Chilocco Indian School"
