Sewing Room

These are pictures of my recently organized sewing room. On the right are shelves Rodney built for my finished craft pieces, potholders, hand towels with decorative edges, pin cushions, pillow cases, hand made jewelry, small painted boxes  etc. etc.

We repainted these shelves with this tough paint that is easy to wipe off. The table was inherited from his mother. It has two large leaves and we simply slip it out of here and add it to the length of the long dining table for extra space. That sewing cabinet I inherited from my mother. The drawers are handy. Behind the sewing machine is a piece of polyfoam I have covered with wallpaper.  I slip it over this total door at night and during the sunny days set it back off the glass door for maximum light.

This area is where I cut patterns out on this cutting board with a roller cutter. The wire rack holds completed key chains and beaded necklaces. The wall to the left is covered with a heavy paper that came from Scotland. Rod built this cutting board for me and it holds storage beneath it.

This space holds completed baby blankets. There are  plastic storage sets here. After the summer months this room is quite bare so it was a good time to redo the floors with carpet and get painting done. Soon, I hope, there will be many completed small craft articles to add touches of color to mine and my children's homes plus articles needed for the give away baskets.  Receiving these gifts are really not much but it is more the thought that counts with the family who is having a special occasion or a funeral.  I have one granddaughter who loves the outfits I sew for her, too, and that is the greatest fun.

I think I get a lot of snobbishness going on because I love to do this country crafting and I think about that all the way to the bank from being able to enjoy the savings on gifts. :-D
