Donna Flood
Finding Heart
Coney Island, 1952

"Bare" with me through these teen years, please.

I am on the left standing next to a girl I do not remember. The tall girl is the center passed away with Cancer at Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Her sister to the right is living still. Since I am no longer involved actively in any organized faith I have no association with her. Unproductive friendships not furthering the faith are laid aside in exchange for necessary zeal during tumultuous times. There are no complaints from me here. We all must stand on our own two feet. Thankfully, this computer allows me to share with the world in my own way for whatever that is worth.

For the tourist New York is indeed "The Big Apple." You can take a bite of any part of it. What will remain with you will be particular to your own personality. There is so much, actually too much. Maybe if one had a lifetime just for the study of it there wouldn't be enough time. The people are a jumbled up mass of humanity who are shoulder to shoulder but thousands of miles from each other all at the same time. Coming out of Yankee Stadium going toward the subway it was so jammed packed with people Lynda Carol actually became frightened and claustraphobic. She was a big girl but Uncle Dennis picked her up and carried her until we were out to the heaviest part of the crowd.

We enjoyed the Bronx Zoo, the Atlantic Ocean here at Coney Island, New Jersey, The Botanical Gardens, Yankee Stadium, the subways, Radio City Music Hall, The Rockettes, The Biltmore Hotel where we stayed was beautiful.

Like visiting another country one leaves with the thought. It was interesting, beautiful, exciting, but I wouldn't want to live there.
