Gene Julian was the son of Virgey Howell Julian.
Virgey was the daughter of Sarah Kiziah Collins
Howell. Sarah was a sister to our grandmother, Bellzona.

Ona Bee Fast Julien was a long time resident of Shidler, Oklahoma and died April 1, 2011 in Jenkins, Missouri, She was 90 years of age.

Ona was born August 13, 1920 at Coyle, Oklahoma, the daughter of Luke Lora Fast and Millie Mable Brown Fast.  She was a graduate of the Carter Nine High School near Shidler. She was married to Eugene Arland Julien on February 13, 1941 in Hominy, Oklahoma. Soon after their marriage the couple made their home in Abilene, Texas when Mr. Julien was stationed in the military.

Only had been employed throughout the years in various jobs that included a garment factory in Pawhuska, the OTASCO, Firestone, store in Shidler and served as City Clerk was was water commissioner for Shidler. Mr. Julien passed in August of 1981. In 2001 Ona moved to be close her daugher, Lora Lee Brownfield, Mrs. Virgil Brownfield of Jenkins, Missouri.

Her funeral was attended by her children and grandchildren from New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri.

The sun came out and the wind cleared some of the clouds away as the minister spoke of Ona Bee telling of her ways as a loving grandmother, loyal wife and mother who was a believer and practiced her Christian faith. Which was not just words but was totally true. Ona Bee would visit Rhonda and I at different times. Once when Rhonda was a baby and we lived in the far out place on the prairie. She was a spirited, kind, loving person who took all of life in stride with a happy positive outlook in every situation. She always welcomed visitors with offerings of some cake, cookie, or desert to go with a cup of coffee. Her home was a haven for anyone who wished to drop in on her. She was an avid grower of flowers and her front yard on the main street of Shidler was totally full of color at all times during the summer months.

"Keeps me off the street and out of the parlors for spirits," She laughed when anyone commented on her lovely yard. We knew she probably was never in a "parlor for spirits."
