Beauty of the Old Masters
by Donna Flood
The Fox Hunt, Winslow Homer, American

We learned the masters by memory and plan.
"The Fox Hunt, Winslow Homer, American."
Truly as a child a fox hunt meant nothing to me,
There was only the memorization and a fox free.

Years later Mr. Homer was used to teach children,
"Winslow Homer is your best friend."
"Go to him when you want to clearly see,
The use of values, black, white, middle to be."
"Constant and pure not a question, no indecision,
There they are, clear and precise, no illusion."

Note:  Here are sketches showing how Winslow Homer planned his use of values.
