Poetry of 2006/07 by Donna Flood
A Quiet Day

It’s a quiet day
Everyone’s away
I plan to stand in shower
Until I’m a hydrated flower.
Select for clean each inch of skin,
And then, do it again.
The tub I’ll leisurely scrub,
And the sink will get extra rub.
An egg I’ll boil,
Nibble it slow, no oil.
I’ll style my hair,
Won’t go any where.
I’ll finish the wallpaper now,
That chore a sacred cow.
Walk about the grounds I will,
Planning spring beds and shrubs still.
Oh yes, a quiet day it is,
Once in a blue moon ‘tis.
