World War II
Introduction

Electric Scotland bares the flags of several nations. These nations are where many Scots settled in large numbers. You can also find these flags represented as Allies in WWII. These flags are more than decoration. They are symbol of unity and comradeship. The proof is in history itself by the Allied Forces that came together to fight for freedom in many campaigns. One of these campaigns was to completely stop a dictatorship that was spreading through Europe like a cancer. The Nazi Party and WWII are this campaign.

We will walk through WWII with every nation represented on Electric Scotland. We will learn about the Scots contributions to the War, from inventions that won the war to brave Generals and soldiers of Scots heritage and decent. We will learn about special Regiments like the Blackwatch. Most importantly, we will experience a great comradeship between Great Britain, the Commonwealths and the United States.

Why did these countries pull together to win the Greatest trial of mankind? This series will show the pride and stubbornness in the people of Great Britain. They refused to give up! They withstood many tribulations and still remain a free nation! When you think of the spirit of N. Ireland, South Africa, Canada, Australia and America, we must take a mirror image of Great Britain for most of our roots came from there. The next time an American is called a Yankee, they should be proud because Great Britain made us!

WWII on Electric Scotland is to honor all veterans of World War II and pay homage to the nations they represented. Anyone may contribute his or her stories, links or pictures that match any of the countries represented by Electric Scotland. Please contact Alastair or myself to have your information posted on ES.
