A Basket of Flowers

A Basket of Flowers

Little Morag McKay strolled down the path,

Thinking about the morning and taking her bath.

She came upon a white fence and a garden of flowers

And sat among the daisies for hours and hours.

She plucked a few tulips and a few posies too

And laid them in her basket after shaking off the dew.

She added some roses, hyacinth and lilies;

A few stalks of green so it didn’t look so silly.

She stood and she stretched and then went on her way

To visit her grandma with Morag’s colorful display.

When Grandma saw the flowers, she grabbed a glass vase

And planted a big kiss on Little Morag’s face.

They nibbled on shortbread and drank some hot tea

While admiring the flowers for all guests to see.

Later that day Little Morag went home happy as can be

With a smile on her face and the feeling of being free.
