The sign read, ZOO. Callie perched
on a tree just outside the entrance. She flew over the sign and landed in
front of the flamingos. She lifted her wing and looked at its blue color,
then she looked at the pinkish-orange color of the flamingo feathers. They
were pretty, but she liked her blue feathers better.
She flew over to the orangutans.
They were hairy and brown and were fun to watch. The black and white
pandas were sitting quietly, nibbling on bamboo as she arrived. Neither of
them were very colorful. She saw some brownish-gray elephants. She liked
their long trunks. She thought she was a much prettier color than they
were.
She then flew over to the reptile
building and looked at all the snakes and lizards. She was a little bit
afraid. Snakes and lizards eat blue jays sometimes. She was glad they were
behind glass.
Before she left, she stopped to see
one last thing, the parrots. They were bright green, red, yellow, and
purple, and their beaks were colorful too. She looked at their feathers,
then at her own. She still liked her blue ones the most. After that, she
flew home to her nest, leaving all the zoo noises behind her. |
