Lairig Ghru Adventure

Lyrics composed by John Henderson on the 15th of June, 2012,
to Fabian Andre and Wilbur Schwandt's 1931 music for 'Dream A Little Dream Of Me'.

Bens towered high above all us;
Their proud peaks seemed to murmur, "Beware us".
Burns gurgled from deep gullies around,
"You are treading hallowed ground".
We pledged that we'd be careful,
Watchful and ever humbly respectful;
Then whispered "Bens you have heard what we say,
So please bless us upon our way".

'CairnToul' roared, "Scale me now if you can;
I'll welcome your try;
Trek gently and scramble a bit,
Nearby my peak so high".
Views there were quite stupendous
But 'CairnGorm' soon called out, "I'm jealous
If you come and stride-up my bare heights
You'll see e'en more stunning sights".

Bens towered high above us;
Their proud peaks seemed to murmur, "Beware us".
Burns gurgled from deep gullies around,
"You are treading hallowed ground".
We'd pledged that we'd be careful,
Watchful and ever humbly respectful;
And whispered "Bens you have heard what we say,
So please bless us upon our way".

'Morlich' sang, "See me here down below,
Boats I have to row;
Rest easy and enjoy a day's play,
And feel a diff'rent glow".
That change was near nutritious,
But 'Green Loch' next nearby was jealous;
Though attracted by her strange dark mystery,
Calls to climb soon set us free.

Lyrics Gus Kahn

Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you"
Birds singing in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me

Say "Night-ie night" and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me
